As an influencer, as a coach, Iโve really heard it all.
๐ โOur proprietary calculations and CPM (bla bla marketing buzz words) determine your rate to be (half of what I asked for).
๐ โIf you use your iPhone can we meet at (half of what I asked for).โ
๐ โSomeone with more followers than you is asking for less.โ
๐ โWeโre a small brand (that sits on the Fortune 500 list lol)โฆโ
๐ โTony Robbins has a social media program cheaper than yours.โ
And so many more. If this has happened to you, remember:
PEOPLE ARE PAYING YOU FOR THE YEARS (it took to build your expertise and community, NOT THE HOUR (creating content or servicing them).
If your patience is also running thin, hereโs some thought starters for your response:
๐๐ผ While calculations like that are helpful, they donโt take into account the value of my community and expertise in this space. My rate takes into account this and more.
๐๐ผ The quality of my work is very important, and I donโt feel comfortable changing my existing process and style for this campaign.
๐๐ผ I donโt believe follower count is the only metric to determine someoneโs rates, as everyone comes with a different level of expertise and community.
๐๐ผ I hear you, Iโm a small business as well and this rate takes into account the cost of doing business with me and my team who helps bring these projects to life.
