How does your pay as latina translates as an influencer?

LATINAS EARN 57 CENTS FOR EVERY DOLLAR NON-HISPANIC WHITE MEN EARN 👋 and not talking about it continues to propel the wage gap.

If you’re Latina, you were probably raised to just be “happy to be here” and be grateful for every opportunity. Keep to yourself, no one needs to know how much you earn.

While the intention behind that is very good — protect your energy — what this translates to is…no one needs to know that you’re earning less.

Which is why talking about money, negotiating, and all the red flags around pay in the Influencer industry is extremely important for me.

While brands and agencies can do better about ~budgeting~ correctly and giving us more when we ask for less, a big gap in why Latinas also earn less in the Influencer space is because they’re simply not asking for it. They just don’t KNOW they can ask for it.

Most negotiation gurus will tell you to first ask “what’s your budget?” but that’s not good enough for me. If a brand doesn’t have one outlined (which happens more than you think), or if what they have is less than what you CAN EARN — not knowing your worth means you’re going to fall into the trap of accepting less than.

In spirit of#LatinaEqualPayDay, let’s TALK ABOUT IT. Ask me any questions around my rates as a coach, consultant or creator 👇
