Content Strategy 101
“HELP: I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO POST TODAY!” Solution: you need a content strategy to create with more ease and stop feeling stuck here.
One of my favorite things to dig into with my 1:1 or Mastermind clients is content strategy & a more strategic way to brainstorm…so that you have content for even the days when you’re “drawing a blank.”
A strong content strategy understands…
⭐️ Foundations: your mission & the transformation your platform offers
⭐️ Who: the person your content is for, so that what you’re planning has relevance and value
⭐️ Pillars: the macro-themes (“big picture” categories) you like to create around, so you have guardrails to support you
⭐️ Content Type & Platform: a cadence for the # and types of posts you can manage, and on what platforms
⭐️ Commitment: scheduling time for yourself to brainstorm & plan the micro-topics (actual content) that you want to create — and actually bringing them to life!
⭐️ BONUS TIP: sometimes the best ideas come from outside this structure, so make a space to “idea dump” the things that will randomly come to you
If you do this, there will never be a day where you’re saying “I have nothing to post.” It’s always “which of these do I turn into a post?” (Psst: that’s what happened today — I had this topic planned, and nothing created. So I made this video on a whim, knowing this topic was in the queue.
In @influencewithimpact’s Mastermind, we have officially adopted a class-favorite into the curriculum: content brainstorming days — to hold each other accountable to committing to our unique process and ensuring we have a content strategy that works for us!
